Senator Bernie Sanders held nothing back when he attacked President Trump, making it clear last week that the United States “is not a nation which tears children from their parents.”
“Clearly, anyone who looks at the record understands that the Democrats have been serious about comprehensive immigration reform, that’s what the American people want, and a path towards citizenship for people who are undocumented,” Sanders said during a recent interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Sanders tore into the Trump’s administration’s “zero tolerance” policy, which caused thousands of immigrant children to be separated from their families at the border. Trump recently stalled those separations by signing an executive order.
As a result, the policy, first enacted back in April, has seen more than 2,000 children placed within detention centers while their parents await prosecution for illegally attempting to cross the border.
“We have a president who’s not serious about policy, a president who lies every single day, a president who told us that he couldn’t do anything about ripping children from the arms of their mothers and it had to be in Congress and then two days later he passed an executive order,” Sanders stated on Sunday.

“We need Trump now to make it clear that the United States of America is not a nation which tears children from their parents.”
This Tuesday, Trump’s infamous travel ban was sustained by the supreme court after they determined that as president he has the broad power to refuse people access to the nation.
Sanders was quick to weigh in on the issue:
“The Supreme Court sided with fear, racism and xenophobia and against the American ideals of religious freedom and tolerance. Trump’s travel ban isn’t about keeping America safe. Just look at Trump’s own words. It’s always been a racist attempt to ban Muslims from entering the US.”

However, conservatives weren’t so impressed with Sanders’ comments and quickly fired back in outrage:
So funny when it suits your agenda the supreme court's decision is wise but otherwise it's b.s. so immature

So Bernie is advocating "religious freedom" for the one religion whose main objective is to squash all "religious freedom" for all other religions?
Has Bernie seen what is happening in Europe?
